At Hamilton Parc, we are proud to be home to inspiring individuals who make a difference in the world—and Za’Myah Ellis is one of those truly special people.
Za’Myah, 19, is a bright light in the Capital Region. Born with Down syndrome, she has turned her empathy and generosity into action, collecting bottles and cans to raise money and give back to those in need. From helping local families with back-to-school shopping to donating sports equipment and track shoes for young athletes, Za’Myah’s mission is simple: spread kindness wherever she can.
Her story was recently featured in the Times Union, where reporter Paul Grondahl beautifully captured her spirit and selfless heart. In the piece, Za’Myah and her mother talk about the impact she hopes to make with “Za’Myah’s Way,” a growing effort to formalize her giving through a nonprofit organization.
We’re also thrilled to share that Za’Myah is connected to Hamilton Parc through her uncle, Stephen Ball, our very own building manager and superintendent. Starting May 7, you can meet Za’Myah in person at our weekly Community Marketplace, held every Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. She’ll be there collecting cans and bottles to support her cause—and giving out smiles that are known to brighten even the toughest days.
We encourage everyone to come by, say hello, and be part of something good.
Let’s continue to lift each other up—Za’Myah’s Way.
